Government is doing every possible effort to protect us from deadly corona virus. Even though the remedy or vaccine for the same is still not found. But government and media is trying best to convey every precautionary measure to people be it face mask, handwash, use of sanitizer etc.
The Ministry of Health and Family Affairs issued an advisory on face masks and protective covers at home. Furthermore, an easy guide by the ministry’s manual explains ways to make face masks at home. They have also explained who all can use the homemade protective masks in the wake of corona outbreak.
In the advisory, the government said that face masks cuts the chance of the disease being passed on if any person likely to be in close contact with someone infected. And if there is symptoms of coronavirus, or have been diagnosed, wearing a mask can also protect others. So masks are plays a crucial part for health and social care workers looking after patients and also recommended people to use it if they are taking care for someone who is ill-ideally both patients and carer should have mask.
In short, the advisory reads “Certain countries have claimed benefits of homemade face cover for the general public. Such homemade face cover is a good method for maintaining personal hygiene. Such usage certainly will help in maintaining overall hygienic health conditions.”
It is mentioned in the manual that those who aren’t suffering from any medical condition or don’t have any difficulty in breathing may use homemade face masks and covers while stepping out.
These face masks has to be made out of clean cloth available at home. The cloth has to be cleaned and washed before stitching the face cover. While preparing the face cover, keep in mind that it should cover the mouth and nose completely and it can be tied over the face easily.
Manual has also laid down the steps to make these face covers and masks at home using clean cloth and sewing machine.
